ok, well, i don't really have news, so i've been watching this hurricane on weather.com and so far it seems as if this hurricane is hitting around north carolina and south carolina, and unfortunately, i'm very close to north carolina, living about an hour and a half away from north carolina. if it does actually hit north carolina/south carolina, i am expected to lose power. honestly, i'm not prepared for this. xD so, i'm hoping that it doesn't hit around me. ^.^ but if i go MIA for a bit, you guys will know why. and for the record, this is actually an extratropical storm. and for those of you who doesn't know what that means, it's like a tropical storm (hurricane) it feeds off the ocean water, and once it hits land, it will also be feeding off the cold air coming from the west (montana) and from canada. so it'll continue, the forecasters are actually predicting that once it hits that cold front, it'll push it back out to the sea though. but, sadly enough, it's actually suppose to bring the snow in. -.- i'd be ok with just the storm, but snow, REALLY?!?! but anyways, just a heads up.
I feel your pain. We get hit with tropical storms/hurricanes more than once a year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Luckily, hurricane season is almost over! I'm here in Florida, right off of the west coast so I get SLAMMED. Luckily, we got hit by Isaac but it was wimpy and nothing to the extreme of what I thought was going to happen.
Be safe and try not to worry! Hurricanes seem scary, but you have so much time to prepare that by the time it's about to hit you'll know if you're really in danger or not. :) Most of the time it's just a super icky storm.
Once some one's porch crashed into my room o.o it was kinda neat XD
Stay Safe!! BUY BATTERIES AND WATER!!! hehehehe!

Em, Neat? I'd be flipping out if that happened? haha
Being in Michigan, we only get hit by lots of rain when the remainder passing by. So, typical storms. But, it's so cold up here that it'd probably be freezing rain or snow. Keep it, not ready for snow.
me and snow/ice don't get along. -.- that's the part i'm worried about. where i live, if there is snow or ice on the ground your vehicle is automatically attracted to trees or drop offs. .-. or at least all of mine have. xD
if the power goes out, i have to go pick up my sister and her kids, my grandmother, and me, chan, my sister, her two kids, and my grandmother (and my dog) have to go all the way to my moms because they have a generator. i drive a blazer, so we will all be able to fit. XD
i woulda been freaking out if a porch woulda came flying through my room, so glad your okay!! the worst that we've ever had from a hurricane is just tornadoes. (which every freakin time a tornado has been spotted in my area, i've been at freakin work, once at wendy's the other at wal-mart) and i've had to drive home in the ****. we're just worried about it the storms coming in with it. either snow storms or tornadoes. /:
i'm actually wanting to move to somewhere where there is no tornadoes, no snow, no hurricane's, no earthquakes, anything that could seriously hurt. (the reason why i say snow hurts is because i flipped two cars last year because of snow/ice, that hurts. xD)
Good luck finding a place like that, lol. Hurricanes are freakin' scary, thats for sure. But, I try not to worry, because the added stress just makes things even worse, haha.
I do hope you stay safe. You point is one reason why I love hurricanes: Family time! During Isaac, I took all my dogs, my cat, and went over to my boyfriends house where we all got to spend time together, since they have shutters and I didn't feel like putting up mind (and they have a generator) Lol, it's all great family time! :)
I feel bad for you guys! :( I'm from Cali and nothing like that ever happens here. Once every like 10 years we get a gnarly earthquake. It's pretty hot and gross if you don't live by a beach though.
